L’ Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ha annunciato ieri, martedì 17 dicembre, le shortlist relative a  10 categorie nell’ambito dei 97th Academy Awards®: Documentary Feature Film, Documentary Short Film, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound e Visual Effects. Nella categoria International Feature Film, tra i 15 titoli in shortlist vi è anche Vermiglio di Maura Delpero, insieme a Io sono ancora qui (Brasile), Universal Language (Canada), Waves (Repubblica Ceca), The Girl with the Needle (Danimarca), Emilia Pérez (Francia), Il seme del fico sacro (Germania), Touch (Islanda), Kneecap (Irlanda), Flow (Lettonia), Armand (Norvegia), From Ground Zero (Palestina), Dahomey (Senegal), How to Make Millions before Grandma Dies (Tailandia), Santosh (Regno Unito).

La votazione per le candidature avrà inizio mercoledì 8 gennaio 2025 e si concluderà domenica 12 gennaio 2025. L’annuncio delle “cinquine” è previsto per  venerdì 17 gennaio 2025, mentre la 97esima edizione degli Oscar si terrà domenica 2 marzo 2025 al Dolby® Theatre dell’ Ovation Hollywood.
