Si è svolta ieri sera, domenica 8 gennaio, al Beverly Hilton Hotel di Los Angeles,  condotta da Jimmy Fallon, la 74ma cerimonia di premiazione dei  Golden Globe Awards, gli annuali riconoscimenti della Hollywood Foreign Press Association, l’associazione hollywoodiana della stampa estera. La La Land di Damien Chazelle si è aggiudicato ben sette riconoscimenti (premiati anche i protagonisti Emma Stone e Ryan Gosling) nella categoria Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, mentre il Miglior Film Drammatico è risultato Moonlight. Miglior Film Straniero è Elle, di Paul Verhoven, che vede anche premiata la protagonista Isabelle Huppert come Miglior Attrice in un Film Drammatico.
