L’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ha annunciato oggi, martedì 23 gennaio,  le candidature relative ai 96esimi Academy Awards®, la cui cerimonia di premiazione si svolgerà domenica 10 marzo a Los Angeles, Dolby Theatre, Hollywood & Highland Center, presentatore Jimmy Kimmel. La lista dei candidati è stata presentata in diretta streaming dal Samuel Goldwyn Theater dell’Academy Museum, dall’attrice Zazie Beetz e dall’attore Jack Quaid: in testa Oppenheimer di Christopher Nolan, con 13 candidature, cui seguono le 11 di Povere creature! (Yorgos Lanthimos). A quota 10 Killers of the Flower Moon (Martin Scorsese), 8 candidature per Barbie (Greta Gerwig) e 7 per Maestro (Bradley Cooper). Anatomia di una caduta, American Fiction, The Holdovers e La zona d’interesse ottengono cinque candidature a testa, mentre nella cinquina relativa al Miglior Film Internazionale a rappresentare i nostri colori troviamo anche Io capitano di Matteo Garrone, insieme a  La zona d’interesse (Regno Unito), Perfect Days (Giappone), La società della neve (Spagna) e The Teachers’ Lounge (Germania).
